Brown released the first book in 2016 through Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, followed by its sequels, 2018’s The Wild Robot Escapes and ... its first spinoff chapter book out in September.

The Wild Robot Escapes, the sequel to the book, was able to avoid this problem and maintain the same quality bar as the first, so the film's sequel already has some sort of blueprint to work off of.
