Two people were shot in Downtown Pittsburgh on Friday evening, officials said. Pittsburgh Public Safety said the shooting happened at Penn Avenue and Ninth Street in the Cultural District around 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Pittsburgh police responded to Penn Avenue near Garrison Place downtown. A woman and a man were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

At least two people were shot in Downtown Pittsburgh on August 1. The suspect, described as a Black male in a white T-shirt and orange shorts, fled on foot. Police are investigating.
