Texas state House Democrats plan to leave to break quorum of a special session in which Republicans aim to pass a new congressional map that could net the GOP five seats.

President Donald Trump said Republicans deserve to redraw the Texas electoral map. “I got the highest vote in the history of Texas, as you probably know. And we are entitled to five more seats,” he said Tuesday in an interview with CNBC.

Democratic lawmakers in Texas left the state to deny Republicans the quorum needed to redraw the state's 38 congressional districts.
