Texas placed Mahle, 30, on the injured list with shoulder with shoulder fatigue. The right-hander is in the midst of the best season of his career as he holds a 2.34 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over 77 innings 14 starts.
The Rangers are trying to keep pace in the AL West and got some really good news on a very talented young player
The Rangers officially placed right-hander Tyler Mahle on the 15-day injured list due to right shoulder fatigue. The placement is retroactive to June 12. Right-hander Kumar Rocker was called up from Triple-A and will start for the Rangers today in what was initially Mahle’s turn in the rotation.
The move would also speak to the grave lack of healthy pitching depth in the system at the moment. When Rocker was optioned a week ago after a game in which he failed to cover first base and then lost track of baserunners, President of Baseball Operations Chris Young acknowledged that Rocker needed more development.
Texas Rangers starting pitcher Tyler Mahle could be held out of his next start after experiencing soreness in his pitching arm.
