T. rex teeth — possibly up to six inches long — were thought by many to be too big not to protrude. In recent years, paleontologists have debunked other stereotypical portrayals of the dinosaur.

Juvenile T. rex fossils are not an everyday find. This one, dubbed by the museum as the "Teen Rex," is one of just four young T. rex fossils that have been found on Earth, Lyson said.

The actual T. rex roamed the planet between 65 million and 67 million years ago. A study published two years ago in the journal Science estimated that about 2.5 billion of the dinosaurs ever lived.

From the moment the T-Rex first arrived on-screen in 1993’s Jurassic Park, the fearsome dino has been the star of the franchise and one of the greatest movie monsters of all time.
