Matthew Nilo, a 35-year-old New Jersey resident who works as a lawyer in New York, apparently proposed to his fiancée weeks before he was charged in a string of Boston rapes.

Boston Police and the FBI used genetic genealogy to arrest Matthew Nilo, a New Jersey attorney, in several alleged rapes in Boston from 2007 and 2008.

Boston police and FBI announced the arrest of Matthew J. Nilo, a New Jersey attorney connected by investigative genetic genealogy and DNA analysis to a series of rapes from 2007-2008.

Joseph Donahue, 65, was found with stab wounds to the head and chest inside his household in Boston in February. His alleged lover, Nora Nelson, 24, has pleaded not guilty to the crime.

Boston police said Matthew Nilo, 35, was arrested in New Jersey for a string of rapes committed in 2007 and 2008.
