The site chosen for the new station is at Bishopton, near the M40, and next to an existing park-and-ride facility. The council said the project will cost an estimated £8.8m.

Stratford Parkway Station is due to be built opposite the current park and ride site, off Bishopton Lane, and is expected to allow thousands more people to travel by rail to Coventry and Birmingham.
