St. Nicholas (the Church) Has Come to Town The Greek Orthodox house of worship was destroyed on Sept. 11. After 21 years and $85 million, its glowing new home has opened.

Construction at the new St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church began on Monday -- with hardhats fitting the first skylight into the dome of the 9/11-ravaged structure during a special ceremony.

The church, located steps way from the World Trade Center, was completely destroyed on 9/11. But this week, just ahead of the 20th anniversary, St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church will be reborn.
