The first wood-frame St. Benedict Catholic Church of rural Horace, shown here in 1905, was built in 1888 but was destroyed by fire and replaced by the current church, completed in 1913.

The funeral mass will be on Monday, December 5, at noon in St. Peter Catholic Church in Covington. Archbishop Gregory Aymond will be the mass celebrant.
