Wind-swept flames sent burning embers onto another historic home at 33 Franklin St., and firefighters from Rumford, Andover, Bethel, Dixfield, Mexico, Peru and Roxbury quickly extinguished them.

No reason has been given for the sale. The owner of Hotel Rumford, a downtown landmark at 65 Canal St., announced its closure in an online post Feb. 14. Melissa Paige Porter did not give a reason.
