Southwest Airlines announced it will increase service between Columbus and San Diego, Dallas Love Field and Orlando beginning in October. Southwest's options to San Diego will go from a Saturday-only and summer-only nonstop route to near-daily departures year-round, according to a Columbus Regional Airport Authority press release.

The airline announced that it will begin offering daily non-stop flights between Fresno and San Diego beginning October 2.

The Dallas-based carrier is adding two new routes as part of its schedule extension. The new routes are San Diego to Fresno, California, and Austin to Jacksonville, Florida.

Fliers taking short routes on Southwest Airlines might notice a lack of refreshments on their trip to another Texas city or elsewhere.  Full drink service won't be available on "express service flights" that are about 40 minutes or less,

Mitchell International Airport announced Thursday it will be offering new, nonstop flights to San Diego starting in October. The airport announced that Southwest will run flights from to San Diego every day of the week except Tuesday and Wednesday.

Southwest just extended its schedule, so now is an excellent time to book Southwest flights through Nov. 1, 2025, at low rates.
