A zoo has been shut down after years of cruelty allegations and the deaths of several animals. After being dubbed the "worst zoo in Britain," South Lakes Safari Zoo in Cumbria is closing its doors.

South Lakes Safari Zoo, near Dalton, Cumbria, will shut on 31 December as its operator Cumbria Zoo Company Limited (CZCL) looks to focus on a site 40 miles (65km) away at Tebay.
