According to the Kentucky Poultry Federation, there are more than 850 large scale poultry farms in Kentucky and together, Solar Alliance and Whayne Supply are targeting them for solar deployment.

The largest solar energy system in West Virginia is at a poultry farm that is equipped with 1,400 solar panels. This farm is being provided with 941,371 kilowatt hours of energy per year.
