The 2019 Chevy Bolt EV adds three new exterior colors to its color palette – Shock, Green Mist Metallic, and Slate Gray Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Slate Gray Metallic hue.

And it's a good question. "Slate is a sophisticated, muted tone that sits between gray and blue," explains Emily Kantz, a NCIDQ-certified designer and color marketing manager at Sherwin Williams.

Benjamin Moore has just dropped their reigning color for 2025, Cinnamon Slate (plus an adjoining palette) with the dusty plum hue setting the stage for a full-on purple takeover.

Slate Gray Metallic is designated by color code GNO and touch-up paint code WA-633D, and is one of seven exterior colors that can be optioned on the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV.

After two other colors were removed from the exterior paint color palette offered for the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500, two others were added, including Lakeshore Blue Metallic and Slate Gray Metallic.

After the week of February 3 rd, Slate Gray Metallic will no longer be available to order on the 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500. The color will be built out after the week of March 17 th, 2025.
