Slack announced the desktop availability of the new feature on Thursday, September 12. Dark mode has been released for all desktop versions of the Slack app: Mac, Windows, and Linux.

Slack is adding Dark Mode to its desktop apps, doubling down on the feature that has become a major trend across the software world. Slack already offered Dark Mode on its mobile app.

To enable dark mode in the Slack desktop client, go to Preferences and then to Themes. Here you can preview different sidebar options or toggle between light and dark modes.
