The modern downtown hotel, just west of Bayfront Park, has just opened two new concepts: The restaurant Vela on the hotel’s ground floor and the rooftop bar Vela Sky on the 12th floor.

A local hotelier has taken over SKY Asian Fusion restaurant from beleaguered Taylor, Bean & Whitaker owner Lee Farkas, who reportedly “abandoned” it almost two weeks ago.
