After nearly 20 years, the Wayans brothers are finally going to give the fans what they’ve been asking for… a return to the SCARY MOVIE franchise!” he said on Facebook, posing with Ghostface.

The Wayans brothers will write and produce the latest installment, alongside Rick Alvarez. Alvarez has previously collaborated with the Wayans on films like White Chicks and Scary Movie 2.

Keenen Ivory Wayans returned as director for Scary Movie 2, with Marlon and Shawn also returning as writers. In addition to that, Marlon and Shawn reprised their roles as Shorty and Ray, respectively.

Marlon and Shawn Wayans wrote and starred in the first two Scary Movie entries, in 2000 and 2001, that poke fun at popular horror like Scream, The Blair Witch Project, The Sixth Sense and more.
