By ABC30 Sunday, November 24, 2013 HOUSTON It's been a crazy couple of days for the Sharpstown High School community. Three administrators and now a teacher were arrested by police.

Senior Perla Lopez says she volunteered, took dual credit classes through the University of Texas, maintained a 3.8 GPA and landed in the top 10 percent of her class during her high school career.

HOUSTON – There's nothing better than a pleasant surprise and that's just what happened at Sharpstown High School Tuesday when students won $100,000 worth of sports equipment.

The high school, located in an international pocket of southwest Houston, serves roughly 1,700 students. More than half of them are emergent bilingual students.

In many respects, the latest dust-up/embarrassment at Sharpstown High School, in which students claimed Principal Rob Gasparello had hit them, has been resolved to the satisfaction of all.

State records show Sharpstown's dropout rate was less than 1 percent from 1999 to 2002. During that span, nearly 800 freshmen enrolled in the school, but fewer than 300 seniors graduated each year.
