A 10-year-old boy lost his leg to a shark attack in the Florida Keys after he was attacked Aug. 13 while snorkeling with his family. His leg was amputated below the knee, his family said.

Jameson Reeder Jr., now 13, is opening up about returning to the Florida Keys after surviving a 2022 shark attack, which resulted in the loss of one of his legs.

Shortly before 4:00 p.m. on Monday, a shark bit the boy on the right leg, causing him to require medical attention at the hospital. He is in stable condition, police said.
