In a landmark moment for HBCUs and pro football, Tennessee State alum Shannon Harris led the DC Defenders to a record-breaking UFL title, earning Coach of the Year honors and cementing his legacy.

With the foundation provided by Stone High School, Harris will be looking to be the team’s full-time head coach and hopefully lead the Defenders to a second consecutive championship in 2026.
