HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — A shark bite was reported Tuesday on Hilton Head Island. Shore Beach Service says it happened around noon on Tuesday at Marker 24, which is located at Sea Pines.

Hilton Head hosts about 1.5 million visitors each year who are drawn to the island’s beaches and natural beauty. These beachgoers will need to share the beach with sea turtle nests.
