"Scrub typhus has emerged as a major public health problem in Nepal," said Gokarna Dahal, chief of the Vector Control Section at the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division.

Since Nepal also lies within the 'tsutsugamushi triangle', it is obvious to suspect endemicity of the disease.In 2023 alone, over 2,200 cases of scrub typhus were reported.
