Michael from The Reptile Zoo talks about the savannah monitor lizard, their size, habitat, diet, and care. These lizards are known for their intelligence, but require specific care!
One of them is Zephyr, a 3 1/2-year-old savannah monitor. Worried the baby monitor lizard might not survive without the right care and diet, Eren Undem bought it from the family for $40.
Arceo noted that the lizard’s scientific species name is Savannah Monitor Varanus exanthematicus. “They are native to West and Central parts of Africa, south of the Sahara,” Arceo wrote.
Oscar, the Savannah monitor, was reportedly found in a trash can on the side of Pennsylvania road, according to a Facebook post shared by Speranza Animal Rescue on May 10, 2023.
The rescue group said the reptile, believed to be a Savannah monitor lizard, was dubbed "Monster" by rescuers. The group said it is currently looking for a specialist to care for the lizard.
