Ukraine's military denies the encirclement of its forces in Kursk, after Trump asks Putin to spare the lives of thousands "surrounded" by Russia's military.

Special envoy Steve Witkoff said he expects the discussion to be "positive" and a ceasefire to come soon in the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Russia and Ukraine continued aerial attacks on each other, inflicting injuries and damages, officials said early on Sunday, as the fate of a proposed ceasefire to the three-year-old war remained uncertain.
