Original story, 3:55 p.m. A fatal head-on collision in Virginia has killed one person and injured nine people this afternoon on Route 13 in Accomack County.

Just before 9 a.m., a tractor-trailer traveling north on Route 13 came upon a Ford Expedition "too fast" and rear-ended the SUV, according to Virginia State Police.

The accident occurred around 12:20 p.m. on Route 13 near Parks Road in Accomack County when the Subaru was heading southbound and crossed the median, hitting the Toyota heading northbound.

On Route 13 south at Boyd’s Corner Road (Route 896), the shopping center’s address is 2397 Dupont Parkway, Middletown, but the location is north of Middletown and Odessa, south of St. Georges.
