LAFAYETTE, La. — A small fire was reported at the newly-opened Rouses Market at the intersection of Camellia Blvd. and Verot School Rd. Monday night, according to Rouses employees.

You don't often hear someone say that Rouses, the popular grocery chain with 53 Louisiana locations, makes that cake, but it's hard to beat the convenience of it. You want a king cake?

And now, Rouses is mashing together a Coast staple with their own popular cake for a new summer treat. The Louisiana-based regional grocery store chain is now selling banana Gentilly cakes for $19.99.

The API failed to deliver the resource. The doors on the new Rouses store in Picayune opened around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. The 40,000-square-foot supermarket is in the River Ridge Shopping Center.
