The ROG Phone 8 Pro bears the name of Asus ' gaming-focused sub-brand, but this phone targets a much wider audience than any of its predecessors. And that move pays off, at least in part.

The Asus ROG 8 has a 5,500 mAh battery packed into it. For context, the only other devices to pack a 5,500 mAh battery are its sibling, the Asus ROG 8 Pro, and the OnePlus 12R.
The Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate isn’t as fast as the ROG Phone 8 Pro, and it’s much less pleasant to look at and use day to day. However, it’s more gaming-focused, and should now be cheaper too.
The base model with 16GB RAM and 512GB costs $1,200, while the 24GB RAM and 1TB storage model clocks in at a whopping $1,500. All models, including the ROG Phone 8, ship with a lightweight clear case.
Like its predecessor, the ROG Phone 8 Pro also wears a small screen at the rear, but this time it’s a dot matrix display, dubbed AniMe Vision, that hides under the device’s black matte glass back.
The ROG Phone 8 Pro starts at $1,199 for 16GB/512GB and the top-of-the-line model, complete with bundled cooler, costs $1,499. In the UK, the ROG Phone 8 starts at £949.99 and the Pro costs £1,099.
Asus has already started teasing the ROG Phone 8 just eight months after the release of the ROG Phone 7. A teaser image posted on X reveals a redesign of the rear camera island for a fresher look.
The Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro will also carry either 512GB or 1TB of storage, while the lower tier will house 256 GB. Each version will carry a 5,500mAh battery with Quick Charge 5.0.
