Nicholls gets his fingers burned when an old flame of Robin's turns up at the restaurant. Robin deserts the nest and moves in with his father-in-law.

Victoria thinks she is pregnant which delights Robin and upsets Nicholls, until he begins to plan ahead for the baby. It will be University, Sandhurst and politics. Robin resents Nicholls taking over.

But then they meet young Robin Tripp. When their landlord has to sell-up for redevelopment, Robin and his two female flatmates organise a petition to their local MP.
