A 20-mile stretch of Highway 41 will soon close for five days, cutting off a crucial artery for drivers traveling between San Luis Obispo County and Fresno.
The brush fire began shortly after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Lower Ranch Rd and Petes Crossing in Aguanga in Riverside County.
The plane, a Cessna Citation II (C550) twin-jet, took off from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey late Monday with a stopover in Wichita, Kansas. The plane then departed for San Diego’s Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport shortly after 2:30 a.m. Central Standard Time—a landing that was never completed.
According to CAL Fire, the Inn Fire near Mono Lake started Thursday and has grown to 640 acres Friday night. Evacuations for the Inn Fire can be found in the evacuation map below: According to Cal Fire, Highway 395 is closed from Lee Vining to State Route 167.
