NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The team at the Nashville Zoo got a surprise earlier this week when red river hog, Tater, gave birth to a new piglet. The piglet was born Tuesday, April 1.

The Nashville Zoo welcomed a new male red river hog piglet, named Chive, on April 1, 2025. Chive's early birth surprised zoo's staff, requiring intervention due to his mother's neglect.
