SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - A Boy Scout troop helped build an earthly “rainbow bridge” for pet owners at the Spartanburg Humane Society.

The bridge was also modeled after a real-life Rainbow Bridge in North Carolina, which became a pilgrimage site for grieving pet owners before it was destroyed by Hurricane Helene in 2024.

Tucked away in the mountains of western North Carolina at Lake Lure Flowering Bridge near Chimney Rock, stood a rainbow-painted bridge created by artist Amy Wald in 2022.
