UPDATED: July 2, 2025 at 6:45 PM EDT Residents of a Queens street where a man was found shot to death in a car said they noticed something wrong when they saw the vehicle parked strangely.

Family of 14-year-old Jamauri Mezar outside their building at 90-14 161st St in Jamaica, Queens. Jamauri was shot in the head when a gun belonging to friends went off on June 25, 2025.

Police said they were investigating what they believe to be an accidental shooting that left a 14-year-old boy dead in Queens on Wednesday afternoon and led to the arrest of a 15-year-old.
