Despite the behind-the-scenes drama, “Pushing Daisies” continues to score high praise — and the backing of a hefty marketing campaign by ABC. Show bows Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 8 p.m.

Pushing Daisies ran for two seasons on ABC from 2007 to 2009. The series followed a pie maker named Ned, who possesses the ability to bring the dead back to life with a single touch.

Cynics might find it hokey. Yet all the praise heaped on "Pushing Daisies," and every declaration about the dramedy's originality, is merited. There isn't anything else like it on the schedule.
