An increase in the average reimbursement rate means insurers will receive more funding per Medicare Advantage plan recipient and the insurers that offer these plan

The U.S. announced a 5.06% average increase in the government's final reimbursement rates for 2026 Medicare Advantage health plans run by private insurers, more than double the increase it proposed in January.

Medicare Advantage plans will get a 5.06% rate increase, well above the 2.23% bump that the Biden administration proposed.
