Artwork titled “Horizons” features images of poppies projected on the National WWI Museum and Monument in Kansas City during the NFL Draft.
In 2018, Liberty Memorial was illuminated with more than 5,000 poppies, as shown in this rendering, from Nov. 9 to 11 as part of the museum's Armistice Day centennial event.
It walks through the faith leaders who served during the war and how they handled the war on and off the battlefield. The museum is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Memorial Day.
