The Center Square Tuesday couldn’t reach the Side Street Café, Gorell or the Reno and Sparks police departments for comments. The Spark Police Department is the lead agency in the investigation.
The project began in 2019, and has obtained records from nearly 12,000 cases and 700 police departments across the state.
The Police Records Access Project database, now available to the public, contains roughly 1.5 million pages of records from 12,000 officer-misconduct and use-of-force cases in California.
