Some 1,100 to 1,200 sea lions have been counted flopping on and around the docks at San Francisco's Pier 39 in recent days — the highest number recorded in 15 years.
Sheila Chandor, Harbormaster for Pier 39 Marina says they've counted about 1,000 sea lions this week. "We haven't had these kind of numbers of sea lions for probably over 15 years," said Chandor.
