Petoskey State Park had the top occupancy rate at 79.56% in fiscal year 2024. It was followed by Hartwick Pines, Porcupine Mountains, Young and Holland.

As of March 10, state park and recreation area campgrounds on average were 44% booked between May 26 and Sept. 4. Several campgrounds will be tougher to get into, however.
