The CH-47 Chinook has been doing service in for decades now, thanks to its capabilities. A replacement for the aging Chinook is still in the planning stages.

The U.S. Army tested the CH-47 Chinook to land on water with a sealed fuselage and succeeded. Some militaries have also landed on water to let a boat load up.
