PNC Arena is working on getting a new look. The arena, which is the home of the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes and N.C. State’s basketball team, opened in 1999 with a $158 million price tag.

This time, however, the Centennial Authority board — which owns PNC Arena — has $300 million committed from Raleigh and Wake County to turn the ideas into reality.

PNC Arena is located at 1400 Edwards Mill Road, Raleigh, NC. Construction began in July 1997 on the arena. It opened its doors in October 1999 as the Raleigh Entertainment & Sports Arena.
