Margaritaville Resort Orange Beach is set to break ground this fall with construction of the Waterfront District beginning summer of 2025 and the first phase of the resort opening 2027.

Updated: Apr 28, 2025 / 12:47 PM CDT ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (WKRG) — The Margaritaville Resort Orange Beach is closer to reality as a groundbreaking has been scheduled for May, News 5 has learned.

Groundbreaking for this new Margaritaville Orange Beach will be in the fall. The first phase is expected to open in spring 2027 and the entire resort is projected to be complete by 2029.

Originally opened in 1982 by Holiday Inn founder Kemmons Wilson, Orange Lake Resort has grown into a 1,100-acre flagship destination featuring more than 2,400 villas across four villages.
