He named his ship's flag "Old Glory." At the time, the American flag boasted 24 stars, and Driver flew it proudly as he sailed to China, India, Gibraltar and throughout the South Pacific.

When I moved to my current home in New York City a few years ago, I was excited to have a spot in the front to hang the American flag. After moving in, I proudly hung Old Glory up.
