The head of Chicago’s U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office Tuesday defended the conduct and decorum of federal agents who have ramped up arrests of undocumented immigrants.
CHICAGO — Community and faith leaders held a prayer vigil Thursday outside of an ICE office downtown. The vigil started around 11 a.m. on Clark Street near Ida B. Wells Drive and ending at 7 p.m.
The Chicago City Council, long derided as a mayoral puppet, is increasingly operating independent of the wishes of the mayor’s office.
