Muppet Christmas Carol’s songs have become festive staples – but there were originally even more of them. Yes, not one but two songs were recorded for the film but ultimately never recorded.

“The Muppet Christmas Carol” is whole again. As the film celebrates its 30 th anniversary on Dec. 11, Belle’s long-lost fan-favorite song “When Love Is Gone” has finally been restored.

The Muppet Christmas Carol was first released on 11 December 1992. Gregory Wakeman finds out how grief and addiction helped shape a film that still has a huge following 30 years on.
