Oracle (NYSE:ORCL) and OpenAI have entered a strategic partnership to construct an additional 4.5 gigawatts of AI-focused data center capacity in the United States, significantly expanding the Stargate infrastructure project.

OpenAI and Oracle will develop another 4.5 gigawatts of data center capacity, expanding a tie-up that has promised hundreds of billions of dollars in infrastructure investment to keep the U.S. ahead in the global artificial intelligence race.

OpenAI announced Tuesday that it will develop 4.5 gigawatts of data center capacity in partnership with Oracle ORCL — confirming an expanded partnership between the two companies within the buzzy Stargate infrastructure initiative. Oracle stock was slightly lower Tuesday.
