A pair of North Pole seniors played in the first-ever NFL FLAG High School Girls Showcase, met NFL Pro Bowl players and visited Disney World while in Orlando last weekend.

In North Pole, which is located about 13 miles southeast of Fairbanks, candy canes double as street lights, and Christmas takes on special meaning for resident and FedEx driver Bill Soplu.

North Pole was the best flag football team in the Railbelt Conference all season and, when it came down to it, proved to be best team in the state during the playoffs in Wasilla this weekend.
