A shooting in northwest Detroit on Monday morning resulted in a stray bullet breaching the newly dedicated Catholic chapel at Loyola High School, reportedly while about 40 students were inside.

Loyola High School was founded in 1993 and co-sponsored by the Archdiocese of Detroit and the Midwest Province of Jesuits. It is one of only three Catholic high schools still operating in the city.
