WSPA 7News on MSNFirefighters make progress on wildfires in Polk Co.Firefighters continue to make progress Friday containing wildfires in Polk County and Henderson County in North Carolina.
The N.C. Forest Service has an interactive map showing wildfires across the state, with the size of the area involved and how far along firefighters are in efforts to extinguish it. As of Monday afternoon, March 24, the map showed 112 fires across the state on more than 3,484 acres.
Fire crews from North Carolina and across the country are battling the massive wildfires burning in the Black Cove Complex. More than 500 personnel are on the ground, working to contain the flames. A Red Flag Warning is in effect.
