Niche, at 14 S. Third St., Geneva, is looking to expand into the neighboring space at 12 S. Third St., a currently closed retail space, to create its own boutique to complement the restaurant.

According to the Geneva-on-the-Lake Fire Department, there was no fire extension to the second-floor living space or the candy shop storefront and the fire was declared under control by 5:12 a.m.

Firefighters were called to the Pucker Up Candy Shop on the 5300 block of Lake Road before 4:30 a.m. A guest staying at an AirBnB above the candy shop reported the fire.
