He was later dismissed from the Oklahoma State wrestling program and was charged with felony sexual battery in 2022. Those charges were later dropped. Ferrari took an Olympic redshirt in 2023–24.

Following a two-year absence, Ferrari returned to collegiate wrestling in 2024 at Cal State Bakersfield, where he finished the season with a 22-1 record, claiming third place at the NCAA tournament.
